50 plus mile-per-hour winds howled last night and the fields felt the consequences, the covered beds in particular. Paul has a number of 5’x200’ beds covered with plastic under low hoops. Last night the wind ripped the plastic to shreds. Then the plastic wrapped around the sprinkler risers and snapped them off too. And the wind hasn’t exactly let up.
The beds are covered, this time of year for warmth. These lettuce crops, have a big boost compared to their uncovered neighbors.
We’re hoping for calmer weather tomorrow.
