Sprouts and Peas

The brussel sprouts are finishing. What a weird bunch of stalks, standing but leaning at odd angles. Friday someone mentioned their granddaughter calls sprouts “round salad”, a good new name. The sprouts need much “cleaning”, pulling off the many damaged outer leaves and will be soil food soon.

Looking at the rows of peas (this one was planted January 25th) it is obvious that the rabbits are helping themselves. Every one of the three plantings shows the same inconsistencies, sections of the row full and thick followed by plants eaten off to the ground. Warm weather will help with recovery despite the setback.
