Winter Planting

The footprints in this bed are a clear indication of seeds recently planted.

As summer finally starts with the first cherry tomatoes and cucumbers coming to the market, the farm is prepping for winter. Squeezing time from between picking, packing, cultivating and irrigating, some of the fields are planted in winter roots like parsnips and celery root. Winter squash is up and spreading.

Getting everything done is not possible right now. Farming means accepting that and setting priorities.
